Excited to follow along (and catch up on your archive)! I'm thinking a lot about stewardship of collective memory these days (especially in computer storage terms), and I'm looking forward to learning more about collective data practices, as I feel there's a lot of conceptual and practical overlap with memory.
(also, I've been thinking about starting my own Substack for a few months now, and coming across yours was the final nudge I needed!! just thought I'd share :) )
Yeeees, I love all of this! So true re: collective memory, I'm sure there are lots of overlaps that I'm not aware of, would love to learn more about that. Especially because a lot of what I think about when it comes to grassroots data is really about stories and embodied experiences and the dignity of telling your own story.
